 Stephen King explores the resiliency of women and their ability to overcome unhealthy domestic situations in what he’s reductively and unofficially named “The Abused Women Trilogy.” Though this isn’t actually a trilogy in the conventional sense as the characters do not truly interact (with a minor exception to Dolores and Jessie), they all pull from the same themes. We follow three different women in isolating abusive relationships and their arcs to freedom and healing.

Tim Curry’s memoir does not follow the same formula as most celebrity memoirs. He has not set out to dish the dirt on colleagues or write a tell-all of his love life. In fact, he makes it quite clear in the introduction that you can throw those expectations out the window. Curry’s primary goal is to discuss his relationship with acting– how he chooses roles, the joy he finds in playing new character types, his struggles to balance music and acting, and what parts of his life

  During my glorious birthday adventure, I pillaged Carolyn’s bookshelves and absolutely devoured Cat + Gamer by Wataru Nadatani in two cozy little evenings. I’m immensely grateful she let me read her books with no restrictions, but now I’m sad because there’s a void in my heart (and shelves) in the shape of eight cat-themed manga volumes. Many of these early Bachman novels were actually written while King was quite young--as early as sixteen years-old. These would have been novels that did not make it through the vetting process with publishing houses until after King became a household name they knew would sell.
